Whether you’re a home barista or you run your own coffee house or restaurant, we are the ideal candidate to train either individuals or entire teams.


Making an excellent cup of coffee requires more than just ‘going through the basics’. Unfortunately in our experience, this is where most people begin and end their coffee training. ‘Going through the basics’ will ultimately give you just that - a basic cup of coffee… Not spectacular, not amazing and certainly not memorable. Occasionally fate may intervene, the stars may align and you may produce the coveted ‘God shot’, but without the understanding of why coffee behaves how it does, and the many variable factors that are involved, you’ll never replicate that perfect espresso time after time.


The customer on the other side of the counter rarely sees, understands or even cares most of the time, the skill and the knowledge involved in pulling the perfect espresso. But just because they don’t see it, doesn’t mean us, as baristas shouldn’t do it. This is the job we’ve chosen to do, the profession we’ve chosen to follow and the craft which we’ve dedicated our time to master.


Selecting the right bean, getting the grind right, tamping correctly and having the right brew temperature for the chosen coffee. Water pressure, extraction times and flow rates. Understanding how one tiny change in even one of these elements can drastically alter your espresso. Then there is the understanding of external factors and the roles which they play. Room temperature, humidity, storage and the cleanliness of the machine. And all this before we even attempt to texture the milk to give the silky smooth micro-foam to pour the perfect cappuccino or latte with the sexy patterns on the top.


None of this is easy…. But we can teach you to make it look as if it is.
